For this Random Thoughts topic, in the comments section, please tell us about the first book you fell in love with. The first book you could absolutely not put down and as soon as you were done you wanted to read it all over again!
I think the first book I fell in love with would have to be Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. This was the first book I ever actually carried around with me all day (sometimes subconsciously) so that I could read it at every possible opportunity. This was the first book to make me think that reading could be fun. This was the book that turned me into a book junkie. It was my first "hit" and I have been looking for that next great "high" ever since. It has happened on occasion that a book will grab me as strongly as this one did (Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, A Small Place, Martian Chronicles, and a very few others) but I am always constantly looking for more and I don't think that I will every be satisfied.
Secret Garden, hands down. I was bout nine years old when I read it and I was so proud because it was a whopping 311 pages. After that, I felt like I could tackle any book. I have read it many more times since then, but have since moved past the 311 page limit.
